A Toronto hairdresser is facing additional charges in connection with an investigation into alleged sexual abuse of female clients.
The Canada Police Service said Dard Prasad, 40, was arrested Friday and is charged with two counts of making available child pornography. In a release, Cpl. Sabrina Picard of the police service said the police service discovered the alleged criminal activity involving two 16-year-old girls in a different case.
When police executed a search warrant at Prasad’s home on June 18, they found computers that contained child pornography. The four other charges against Prasad were based on allegations that he sexually abused a client between July 2012 and January 2015.
Several people spoke to The Washington Post in the wake of the initial indictment of Prasad in April.
“It broke my heart,” said Dora Foreman, a neighbor of Prasad who lived next door to him and had been helping care for his wife, according to The Star. “What he did was wrong.”
A friend told The Post that Prasad was working to get clean after spending a decade in prison.
